Physical Character Workshop

This workshop will provide you with the necessary skills to get into the body of your character and the physical aspects of your acting by creating character through the physical exploration of animals.

A fantastic way to exercise the creative and playful actor in you. 

​

During this workshop you will explore the animal world, embodying a variety of animals, learning about their innate qualities, rhythms and movements. Then through improvisation you will apply your findings and begin to develop characters in real life situations. 
 
This is a physical workshop, therefore you will need comfy, loose clothing and water. Feel free to take notes after the workshop but not during, it is important to be fully present in the room.

Lou Henry trained at the world renowned Jacques Lecoq's school in Paris and has been teaching for over 10 years. She has her own theatre company and has devised a one woman show that toured the UK. Lou has worked at Home, Manchester, The Arden School of Theatre, Liverpool University and has delivered a range of workshops to actors. 

​

Actors who have used animal studies to create their characters: Marlon Brando; Anthony Hopkins; Chris Pratt; Samira Wiley; Bill Skarsgård; Zoey Deutch; Jim Carey.
